Meet Crystal of Your Spa Girl - Makeup Artist
Crystal has been part of my team for over a year now and it has been such a joy! I wanted to take some time to not only formally introduce her, but to highlight her amazing talent!
Each senior girl has the opportunity to have makeup applied. I LOVE how it makes each girl feel and that translates into a relaxed, fun session. There is nothing like the moment when Crystal hands them a mirror after the makeup is applied. There is a big difference from everyday makeup and photo ready makeup. Crystal is wonderful at applying the perfect amount necessary.
Crystal and I both have the same view on makeup and working with High School seniors. We strive to only enhance their natural beauty, not alter their appearance. To be completely honest, these girls come in looking beautiful with no makeup! (see proof below ;) )
Before makeup is applied, Crystal always asks the beauty routine of each senior and how much makeup is typically worn. We would never want anyone to not feel like themselves after having makeup applied. Crystal also takes time to review each outfit, which helps guide her in what makeup would work best. She really makes it all about what each senior wants!
From a natural look to glamour, Crystal can and has done it all!
I am so lucky to have her on my team!!
What Crystal shared with me.....
How long have you been a Makeup Artist?
- I have been a licensed Esthetician since 2001, working non-stop in the industry since then. Applying makeup professionally has always been a part of my work, however I really began to market myself as a makeup artist specifically in the last 3-4 years as my confidence level and experience grew. I also offer facials and specialize in brow artistry and eyelash extensions.
What is your favorite part about working with High School Seniors?
- The thing I enjoy the most about working with High School Seniors is seeing the young ladies celebrating this momentous time in their lives with their favorite outfit, their family, and their sports or hobbies. Each one has been so unique and beautiful in her own way, and I love being a part of the memories.
Please share a makeup tip for High School Girls-
- My makeup tip for High School girls would have to actually be a skin care tip, since I can't escape my Esthetician roots! It's two-fold: Use a natural, non-irritating product line or your face. I use and recommend Old Crow Natural Skin Care. Cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize properly and your makeup will have a more beautiful finish. Also, please don't neglect or over-tweeze your eyebrows. When you are an adult you will be glad you heeded this advice. Most women I see regret taking their brows too thin when they were younger. Find a brow specialist (like me!) and have your brows professionally cared for.
Enjoy a few Before and After photos and some of my favorite looks Crystal has done.
